ALIGNED WITH YOUR IT/OT ARCHITECTURE
Our Platform virtualization can be deployed on VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V, integrating the digital environment into the customer’s existing virtual infrastructure.
Pharmaceutical equipment is expected to operate for decades. Servers, operating systems and corporate IT standards evolve far more rapidly.
Industrial equipment and digital infrastructure do not evolve at the same speed.
This creates a lifecycle conflict. Engineering needs stable process control, IT must govern cybersecurity and infrastructure continuity, while Quality must protect validated software, electronic records and data integrity.Dedicated industrial computers can therefore become obsolete long before the equipment itself, creating replacement, spare-parts and lifecycle-management challenges.

Our Platform Virtualization, powered by TH5, transfers SCADA, web HMI, SQL database, Batch Management and electronic records from the dedicated BoxPC to a virtual machine within the customer’s governed IT/OT infrastructure, while the machine PLC remains local, preserving deterministic process execution independently from the virtual environment.
Virtualizing the digital layer. Keeping process control deterministic.
This separates the lifecycle of the process controller digital layer from dedicated cabinet hardware, without changing how the process is controlled.

Virtualization removes the need for a dedicated process controller BoxPC, reducing hardware and spare-parts costs.
By integrating process controller into the customer’s existing virtual infrastructure, server management, backup, recovery and updates use established IT resources and processes rather than requiring a separate environment.
Decoupling the process controller digital layer from machine-specific computing hardware also avoids replacement and obsolescence costs throughout the equipment lifecycle, while the infrastructure can evolve without changing how the process is controlled.
No hardware obsolescence
The process controller digital environment is no longer tied to the lifecycle of a dedicated BoxPC.
Zero spare parts inventory
No dedicated process controller BoxPC replacement needs to be stocked or managed.
Full compliance preserved
The same process controller application functions, electronic records, audit trails and data-integrity controls remain available.
Customer-governed infrastructure
The virtual machine becomes part of the site’s established IT/OT architecture and lifecycle strategy.
Our Platform virtualization can be deployed on VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V, integrating the digital environment into the customer’s existing virtual infrastructure.
SCADA, web HMI, SQL database, Batch Management, Phase Groups and electronic records remain unchanged. Operators interact with the same process control environment, regardless of where it is hosted.
The PLC continues to execute process logic and machine sequences locally. Virtualization applies to the digital environment—not to the critical control layer governing the process.
Fedegari manages requirements alignment, software configuration, remote preparation, on-site commissioning, functional verification and as-built documentation—supporting the complete transition from the standard FAT environment to the customer’s virtual infrastructure.
The virtualized configuration can benefit from the customer’s established strategies for backup, recovery, high availability and infrastructure continuity.
Removing the dedicated BoxPC reduces cabinet hardware, frees available space and eliminates dependence on a machine-specific industrial computer.
Operating-system updates and upgrades can be coordinated through the customer’s IT infrastructure, aligning process controller with established site lifecycle policies.
Your site already operates a governed virtual infrastructure.
IT/OT standardization is a corporate or site priority.
Hardware obsolescence must not limit equipment lifecycle.
Server management, backup and resilience are centrally governed.
Reducing dedicated cabinet hardware and spare parts is important.
Engineering, IT and Quality need to manage the system through one shared infrastructure strategy.
You want digital flexibility without changing deterministic process control.
No. Operators retain the same process controller interface and application functionality, including Phase Groups, batch management, audit trails and electronic records.
The SCADA, web HMI, SQL database, Batch Management and electronic-record environment are hosted on a virtual machine within the customer’s infrastructure.
Platform virtualization supports VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V environments. Other Hypervisors may be implemented at project phase.
No. The machine PLC remains local and continues to execute process logic and critical sequences deterministically. Virtualization affects the digital and data-management layer, not process execution.
Yes. The virtualized process controller environment can be integrated into the site’s established backup, recovery, high-availability and business-continuity strategies.
Not necessarily. It delivers the greatest value in facilities with an established, governed virtual infrastructure. Where this is not available, the standard dedicated BoxPC configuration may offer a simpler deployment.
The customer manages the underlying server and virtualization infrastructure according to its IT/OT policies. Fedegari remains responsible for the PROCESS CONTROLLER application environment and its controlled deployment.
The process controller application is tested during FAT using Fedegari’s standard environment. The qualified software configuration is then transferred to the customer’s virtual machine and verified during commissioning.
